Giving Tuesday
eGuide’s number one core value is Do Something that Helps Someone. For Giving Tuesday 2020 we wanted to share some organizations that the eGuide team supports and hope that you will too! Non-profits have been hit especially hard with gala and benefit cancellations, donors being stretched thin for their own expenses, and limited grants available. If you financially can’t support non-profits right now, there are other ways you can show support for non-profits by donating your time.
The Cradle
The Cradle has been helping to build families through adoption since 1923. eGuide Owner, Gregory, can speak first hand to the exceptional care and dedication the team at The Cradle has, their approach to open adoption and the amazing work the organization continues to do during the pandemic.
Holidays with Hephzibah
Our friends at the Paramount Group Chicago have developed a partnership with Hephzibah that aligns closely with their core values and mission. They support Hephzibah through a collaborative partnership that focuses on promoting Hephzibah’s cause by curating annual events, participating in volunteer activities and furthering their mission. This holiday season they are fundraising to ensure a bountiful meal for 85 families, to include 222 children and 85 parents. In addition, each child and parent will receive holiday presents.
Gray Matter Experience
Gray Matter is an entrepreneurial experience program for high school students across the country. All programs consist of a series of engaging workshops comprised of team building activities, group and individual tasks, discussions, guest speakers, and fun and engaging field trips.
Surge for More
Our longtime partners at the Surge Institute are implementing their annual #SurgeforMore campaign to raise funds for programs that will develop, unite and empower a generation of education leaders of color who will transform urban education for our youth and our communities. Their goal for this year is $100,000.
Evanston Dance Ensemble
Our very own Lauren Biolsi grew up dancing with the Evanston Dance Ensemble and now sits on their board as secretary! COVID has hit the performing arts especially hard. With many performances being canceled or limited to smaller audiences, performing arts are not maintaining the revenue stream they need.
America Scores
America Scores combines two things that you wouldn’t think necessarily go together, soccer and poetry. But since 2000, the organization has been impacting student lives by hosting after school programs that help shape individuals into “poet-athletes” who are passionate about their community and motivated to succeed.
RefuSHE
Holiday plans look a little different this year for everyone around the world. The team at RefuSHE, has been working hard to identify innovative solutions to the extraordinary challenges facing our own community. Check out the site below for creative ways to “gift back” and reassure the refugee girls that are supported through RefuSHE continue to feel the impact.
Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA)
Since its establishment in 1981, CMAA has evolved into a pan-immigrant social services agency, with clients hailing from over 40 countries and speaking 20+ different languages. The organization provides over 10,000 discrete services annually to approximately 6,000 unique clients.
