Hybrid is Happening!

I've been feeling the shift more this year than in the past two years – partners and prospects are now ready to meet face-to-face, IRL. The eGuide team has enthusiastically embraced the hybrid approach and initiated what we call "War Room Wednesdays." Read on to discover what led to this change, and consider a few points if you're contemplating implementing a hybrid model.

What are War Room Wednesdays?

Over the past two years, eGuide put a lot of effort into our project management practices. We’ve considered Agile, The MOCHA Method, and waterfall. We’ve used Trello, shifted to Monday.com, and in the process, considered Asana, Atlassian, ClickUp, and others. We tried our best to find a project cadence that kept everyone up to speed and deliverables met while providing a space to deepen the connection and create a cohesive team dynamic.

And do you know what I found?

Nothing can really replace a face-to-face meeting and a day in the office where a space for natural connection and between-the-line conversations can occur.

Now don’t misunderstand me, I don’t think this needs to be every day, but with a little engineering, a hybrid model that works can actually be created.

That is how we landed on “War Room Wednesdays.” One day out of the week, the eGuide team comes together to share the same space. We are intentional about our meetings, focusing our shared time on a quick review of what is going to be coming into production the following week. We share a lunch, and we have a happy hour that starts at 4:15p (the 15-minute buffer allows everyone to wrap up tasks and not be late).

So far, this slight shift has been a game changer and has made me a believer in a hybrid work model.

But let's not just talk about ourselves. Let's hear from one of our awesome partners, The Surge Institute. They've trusted us for almost six years! Working side by side with their operations team, we've provided comprehensive support and integrated our systems team into their day-to-day operations. From handling help desk support to automating workflows, managing systems migrations, ensuring cybersecurity, and even assisting with budgeting, we've been their go-to tech ally — their “eGuides”. Soledad, the COO of The Surge Institute, says we've truly enhanced all aspects of their processes. How cool is that?

Have you tried an executive assistant that doesn't live up to your expectations or hired a junior-level position only to find yourself explaining everything in more time than it would take you to do the project? That’s why we are here to be the wingman you need, to get things done.
